Bohol Provincial Board Urged to Investigate AICS Distribution Scandal

A senior member of the Bohol Provincial Board has called for an investigation into allegations of irregularities in the P10-Million distribution of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

Board Member Aldner Damalerio made the comments during a recent radio interview, stating that the provincial board has a responsibility to look into the matter as it affects public funds.

The controversy has been ongoing for several months, with two individuals from the Office of Gov. Aris Aumentado allegedly involved in the scandal were dismissed from their positions.

However, no official findings or conclusions have been made public.

Damalerio expressed fears that the delay in resolving the issue could have implications for the upcoming elections, with some observers suggesting that it could become a contentious issue for the Aumentado administration.

The executive department had previously requested time to conduct its own investigation into the matter, but Damalerio said that provincial board members remain unaware of the findings.

The board member expects the issue to be calendared for discussion in the near future, allowing the provincial board to examine the allegations in more detail.
