Atty. Dan Lim Launches Signature Campaign Over Illegal Sale of Bohol Light

Former Tagbilaran City Mayor Atty. Dan Neri Lim has launched a signature campaign calling for charges to be filed against those involved in the illegal sale of a major stake in the Bohol Light Company Inc. (BLCI) without public bidding or a hearing.

Lim, a vocal critic of the deal, announced the campaign on his radio program on dyTR-FM, saying the signatures collected would serve as the basis for the charges to be filed.

The sale of the SPC Power Corporation’s stake in BLCI to the Razon group for 350 million pesos was announced last month, with the Razon group taking over the company this month.

Lim did not disclose the identities of those targeted by the campaign or provide details on the mechanics of the signature drive, which is set to span across the province of Bohol, from the capital Tagbilaran to other areas.

The campaign comes amid allegations of abuse in the sale of the BLCI shares, which Lim and others claim was conducted without proper transparency or public input.
