Netizens expressed sympathy and condolences to the family of a young girl who died after being bitten by a poisonous snake in Loon, sparking an outpouring of grief and criticism on social media.
The 3-year-old girl was bitten by the snake on October 16, allegedly while resting at her family home. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead by a doctor, despite reportedly still having a pulse.
The family sought to obtain anti-venom in a desperate bid to save the girl’s life, but she eventually succumbed to her injuries at another hospital.
Unconfirmed reports on social media suggested that the family had attempted to use folk medicine to save the girl’s life, but these claims have not been verified.
The Natalio Castillo Memorial Hospital in Loon, where the girl was initially treated, said it had exhausted all efforts to save her life.
However, the hospital’s decision to declare the girl dead despite her still having a pulse has been criticized by netizens.
In a statement, the hospital said the girl arrived at the hospital in a critical condition and that medical staff made every effort to save her life.
However, the hospital’s instruments eventually indicated that there was no more heart activity.
The incident has sparked widespread sympathy and outrage on social media, with many users expressing condolences to the girl’s family and criticizing the hospital’s handling of the case.
