Baclayon Hosts ESWM Enforcers Training

Baclayon, Bohol – The Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Division of the Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO) held a 3-day training for ESWM enforcers from various municipalities last December 20-22, 2023.

The training aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the ESWM enforcers in enforcing Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, which mandates the proper segregation, collection, transport, storage, treatment, and disposal of solid waste.

The participants learned about the legal aspects of ESWM, the roles and responsibilities of ESWM enforcers, the procedures and protocols for conducting inspections and issuing notices and sanctions, and the best practices and challenges in ESWM implementation.

The training also included practical exercises and simulations to test the participants’ ability to apply what they learned in real-life scenarios.

The ESWM Division of BPEMO expressed its gratitude to the local government of Baclayon for hosting the training and providing the necessary facilities and support.

The training is part of the BPEMO’s efforts to promote and sustain ESWM in the province of Bohol, which is known for its rich natural and cultural heritage.

The BPEMO hopes that the training will help the ESWM enforcers to become more effective and efficient in ensuring the compliance of the public and private sectors to the ESWM law.
