The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the City Government of Lapu-Lapu will host the BIDA Fun Run on July 29, 2023. The run will start at 4:00 a.m. at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.
The BIDA Fun Run is a national anti-illegal drug advocacy campaign that involves local government units (LGUs), National Government Agencies (NGAs), and other significant societal sectors. The run is the people’s show of force against illegal drugs.
DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos and Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan will lead the run. Mayor Chan has pledged to have 10,000 participants in the run.
The run will have two categories: 2K and 4K. Registration fee is P400, which will cover the runner’s t-shirt, race tag, early morning snacks, as well as medals and prizes for winners.
Registration is open to all, at the CLOSAP headquarters and LYDO during office hours, or via Facebook on Bida 2023 Run Kontra Droga (#dagankontradroga2023).
“I hope a lot of Oponganons and Cebuanos will join this and support this campaign against illegal drugs,” Mayor Chan said.
The BIDA Fun Run is a way to show the strength of the community against illegal drugs. It is a way to say no to drugs and to support a drug-free Philippines.
