Bohol bagged gold and bronze medals for track and field at the Philippine Athletics Track and Field (PATAFA) Championships on Wednesday, March 22 in Ilagan City, Isabela.
Two Boholano track and field athletes, Maria Emely Balunan and Juvelle Alexa Matnog, had a podium finish for the 400-meter girls under 18 category on the championships’ 1st day. Balunan finished in 1st place, while Matnog came in 3rd.
The Provincial Youth Development Office OIC John Maraguinot said that their wins are a result of the Provincial Government’s grassroots sports program aimed to create competition-ready athletes to represent Bohol.
The Provincial Government, under the leadership of Governor Aris Aumentado, congratulates Balunan and Matnog for making Bohol proud.
