Fish warden falls to police in alleged drug trade bust

Talibon, Bohol: A 33-year-old fish warden was arrested by town police on Nov. 7, 2024, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Jose, Talibon, for alleged involvement in the drug trade.

Nelvin Avenido, a resident of Barangay San Francisco, Talibon, was taken into custody after police seized suspected shabu worth P25,000 pesos from him.

The operation was conducted by the Talibon police in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bohol and was witnessed by barangay officials and a member of the media.

Avenido may face charges for violating the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
