The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has approved the proposed 2025 provincial budget of PHP4.4 billion pesos on first reading during its regular session on Oct. 29, 2024.
Board member Romulo Cepedoza sponsored the measure, which was approved by the provincial board.
The budget will now undergo a second reading, which includes a series of hearings that began last week. Department heads will defend their respective budgets before the board members.
The goal is to complete the hearings by Nov. 16, a tradition aimed at finalizing the budget before Christmas.
The proposed 2025 budget represents an increase over the 2024 budget, largely due to a rise in the National Tax Allocation (NTA).
