BOHOL WATER TREATMENT PLANT TURNS INTO INSTANT TOURIST ATTRACTION
A water treatment plant in Cortes, Bohol has become an unlikely tourist attraction after three groups of students from top universities in Manila visited the site.
The students from De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila, and the University of the Philippines (UP) were drawn to the Richli Water plant in Barangay Patrocinio after learning about its unique landscape and design.
Since then, several vloggers have also flocked to the site, which features a water filtration lagoon that cleans water from the nearby Malingin Falls.
Visitors have been amazed by the plant’s solar energy power system, which floats on the lagoon.
The Richli Water treatment plant is not the only water treatment facility in Bohol that is being developed into a tourist attraction. In Loboc, a water treatment plant is being built to supply water to the town, and the area below it is being landscaped to create a beautiful and safe swimming area for Loboc residents and tourists.
Richli Water has also beautified the bathing area and laundry facilities in Cortes, which have become popular spots for locals and visitors who want to swim and wash their clothes in the area.
