Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Lim Claims Ownership of Lot Used by Fish Vendors in Dauis

Bohol gubernatorial candidate Atty. Dan Lim has claimed that a lot being used by fish vendors in Dauis, Bohol, is owned by his family, contradicting assertions by the family of John Yap that they are the rightful owners.

In a radio program, Lim said the lot was purchased by his father, Segundo Lim, and that his sister, Geesnell, who is married to John Yap, had obtained her name on the title deed.

The lot has been used as a temporary market for fish vendors while the Causeway bridge is being expanded.

The Yap family had claimed that they were not collecting rent from the vendors, but Lim alleged that the vendors are paying a total of P2,400 pesos.

Lim accused the Yap family of lying about their ownership of the lot, which he said was originally a cockpit that his father had bought to eliminate competition with his own cockpit in Tagbilaran City.

Lim called on the Yap family to allow the vendors to use the lot rent-free, amid allegations of a family feud involving his sister and her son, Baba Yap, who is running for congressman in the first district of Bohol against incumbent Cong. Edgar Chatto.
