Ex-city vice mayor vows to deliver ‘genuine service’ if elected

A former vice mayor of Tagbilaran City has promised to provide "genuine service" to the people if he is elected to the post again.

Jose Antonio Veloso made the pledge during an event following the filing of his certificate of candidacy.

He is running alongside City Councilor Malvin "Atoy" Torralba, who is vying for the mayoral seat under the Abante Tagbilaran Uswag Tagbilaranon ticket.

Veloso said his team is better equipped to address the needs of the common people of Tagbilaran City, who often struggle in their daily lives.

He claimed that some residents have hardly felt the presence of government programs.

The Torralba-Veloso tandem has vowed to focus on providing genuine service that people would appreciate.

Veloso’s promise comes as Bohol prepares for 2025 elections, with many candidates facing scrutiny over their track records and campaign promises.

In a related development, Torralba has secured a certificate of nomination and acceptance from the People’s Reform Party, after failing to get one from the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats due to the principle of equity of the incumbent.

He is also reportedly getting support from the National Unity Party, led in Bohol by 1st District Congressman Atty. Edgar M. Chatto.
