Six candidates vie for mayoral seats in Panglao, Ubay towns

Two towns in Bohol province are set to witness intense mayoral elections, with six aspirants each vying for the top post in Panglao and Ubay.

In Panglao, the candidates include incumbent Mayor Edgardo Arcay, Vice Mayor Noel Hormachuelos, lawyer Alexis Ting, Brian Velasco, Councilor Nila Montero, and Aaron Beltran.

Meanwhile, in Ubay, the mayoral hopefuls are Councilor Violits Reyes, Vice Mayor Victor Bonghanoy, Eutiquio Bernales, Arnold Bacolod, Marita Inojales, and Jieblando Mendez.

Incumbent Ubay Mayor Costan Reyes, who has reached the term limit, will run for vice mayor instead.

Both Panglao and Ubay are considered vote-rich towns with potential for future cityhood. Ubay is known for its agricultural industry, while Panglao is a popular tourist destination in Bohol.
