Batuan, Bohol Caravan

A total of 1,267 families from five barangays in Batuan, Bohol received assistance, including five kilograms of rice and canned goods, from the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Erico Aristotle "Aris" Aumentado.

The aid was distributed during the "Abante Barangay Service Caravan" held on September 19 at the Rosariohan Elementary School in Rosariohan, Batuan. The caravan was organized by the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development (OPSWD).

The event brought together the captains of the five barangays, who joined forces to receive benefits and services from the Abante Bohol administration. The barangay captains were Raul Tiongson of Rosariohan, Rolando Pataca of Rizal, Ma. Fe Jala of Janlud, Nilo Macabudbud of Cambacay, and Julius Pancho of Aloja.

A dental service was also provided by the Provincial Health Office in partnership with the Municipal Health Office, benefiting 60 individuals. A medical outreach unit (MOU) provided free medical consultations and medicines to over 100 individuals.

Ten children were circumcised by the PHO medical team from President Carlos P. Garcia. Meanwhile, 128 students from Rosariohan, Batuan received school supplies from the Education Development Center (EDC).

Other government agencies that participated in the caravan included the Local Government Affairs (LGA), Provincial Community Development Office (PCDO), Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Provincial Government Services Office (PGSO), 47th Infantry Battalion, PTF-ELCAC, PNP-Batuan, and the Register of Deeds-Tagbilaran.

Batuan Mayor Antonino Jumawid expressed his gratitude for the caravan’s presence in his municipality. Governor Aumentado, for his part, said that the caravan was part of his administration’s efforts to bring services to remote areas of the province.

Aumentado also emphasized his commitment to listening to and helping those in need, and to bringing new life to communities. He thanked all those who participated in the event, including the LGU Batuan, led by Mayor Jumawid and barangay officials.

The Abante Barangay Service Caravan is part of Governor Aumentado’s initiative to maintain peace and order in the province.
