A 55-year-old motorcyclist was injured in an accident in Corella town on September 14, 2024, authorities reported on Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Alan Abenoja, a resident of barangay Cancatac in Corella, Bohol, was rushed to a nearby hospital after the accident, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to reports, Abenoja was driving home from a fiesta celebration in barangay Canapnapan, Corella, when he allegedly lost control of his vehicle due to intoxication.
The accident occurred on the national highway, where Abenoja was found sprawled on the road before being rescued and taken to hospital.
Abenoja is expected to make a full recovery, authorities said.
The incident has prompted authorities to reiterate warnings about the dangers of driving under the influence of liquor, urging the public to avoid operating motor vehicles while intoxicated.
