Missing man in Bohol found wandering in forest after days of searching

A 48-year-old man who went missing over the weekend in Bohol was found on November 5, 2024, after a search effort that included social media appeals.

Daniko Macalam, a resident of Barangay Lumbay in Pilar, was discovered wandering aimlessly in a forested area in Barangay Abacahanan, Sierra Bullones, according to reports.

He had been without sustenance since his disappearance.

Macalam’s family had reported him missing, and his image was circulated on social media, which helped in the search and eventual reunification.

He was fetched by Pilar police and brought back to his family.

According to reports, Macalam had abandoned his motorcycle in an area in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Sierra Bullones, and proceeded on foot to look for free-range chickens.

However, he became disoriented and found himself in another barangay within Sierra Bullones.

In a separate incident, a young girl who was reported missing on November 5, 2024, was also found.

Bea Angelo Arcamo, a resident of Panglao, had left her home without permission, prompting her family to launch a search effort.
