Primelectric to Develop BLCI Equipment, Facilities

Primelectric, the new majority owner of Bohol Light Company Inc. (BLCI), plans to upgrade the distribution utility’s equipment and facilities.

The company also aims to secure a franchise renewal for BLCI, which is set to expire in October 2025.

Roel Castro, a representative of Primelectric, outlined the company’s vision for BLCI under new management during a meeting with employees and officials recently at The Bohol Tropics.

Primelectric acquired a 70% stake in BLCI from SPC Power Corporation for P350 million pesos.

BLCI was formed through a joint venture between the Salcon Group and the provincial government of Bohol, which converted the Provincial Public Utilities Department (PPUD).
