Bohol Economic Benefits of Long Weekends

A long weekend is expected to boost holiday economics in Bohol as residents enjoy a four-day break.

The extended weekend was made possible by the declaration of November 1, 2024, as a holiday in observance of All Saints’ Day. Additionally, November 4, 2024, was declared a holiday to commemorate the birth anniversary of late President Carlos P. Garcia.

The holiday period was further extended with the suspension of work in public offices and schools on October 31, 2024, which was declared a half-day holiday by Malacañang.

Private companies also suspended work on October 31, 2024, at the discretion of management, allowing employees to attend to celebrations and observances during the first two days of November.

The long weekend is expected to bring a welcome boost to the local economy, with residents and tourists alike taking advantage of the extended break to travel, shop, and enjoy leisure activities.
