The city government of Tagbilaran has launched its first robotics camp, a program aimed at promoting education and innovation in the city’s public schools.
The camp, which was held in October, was the culmination of a series of initiatives that began in August, when the city government turned over robotics kits to all elementary and high schools in the city. The kits were sponsored by the city government, while FELTA Multimedia, Inc. provided training for teachers on robotics education.
The program aimed to prepare students for the National Robotics League in Manila in February 2025. The education initiative is part of the city government’s efforts to modernize education and promote science, math, and technology.
The camp was a success, with several schools emerging as winners in the competition. The winners were:
Elementary Level:
+ 1st place: Tagbilaran City Central Elementary School (Special Program)
+ 2nd place: City East Elementary School
+ 3rd place: Cogon Elementary School
High School Level:
+ 1st place: Taloto National High School
+ 2nd place: DCPNHS (Team 1)
+ 3rd place: Tagbilaran Science High School
The city government’s initiative is part of its efforts to promote education and innovation in the city. The program is seen as a way to improve the quality of education and prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century.
"This is a great example of how education can be a key driver of progress and development in our city," said a city official. "We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education, and this program is just one way we are doing that."
