Former Panglao Mayor Doloreich Dumaluan has withdrawn his candidacy for vice mayor, reports said.
Dumaluan, who filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) earlier, pulled out of the race on October 8, 2024 at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office in Panglao.
He will be replaced by his younger brother, Dr. Theodore "Doyet" Dumaluan, a renowned eye, ear, nose and throat specialist.
The elder Dumaluan will instead serve as campaign manager for mayoralty aspirant Noel Hormachuelos, who faces stiff competition from former mayor Nila Montero and incumbent mayor Edgardo Arcay in the upcoming elections.
