DIGAMON JOINS BAQUIAL’S LINEUP IN LOBOC MAYORAL RACE
Incumbent Barangay Captain Susan Digamon of Gotozon, Loboc has filed her certificate of candidacy for councilor, completing the lineup of mayoralty aspirant Erwin Baquial.
Baquial, an incumbent councilor, is challenging incumbent Mayor Raymond Jala for the top spot in the town. He has chosen Leo Baguio Jr. as his running mate.
Digamon’s candidacy solidifies Baquial’s slate, which is expected to focus on key issues affecting the town, including access to clean water.
Baquial has made ensuring clean water for all residents a central plank of his campaign.
Loboc, a largely agricultural town, has been gaining traction in the tourism industry, thanks in part to its popular river cruise and centuries-old church.
The town’s growing tourism sector has brought new economic opportunities, but also presents challenges for local leaders.
Baquial’s campaign is expected to zero in on his plans for addressing the town’s infrastructure and environmental needs, including improving access to clean water.
