LILA MAYOR, VICE MAYOR FACE NO OPPOSITION IN 2025 ELECTIONS
Lila, Bohol Mayor Arturo Jed Piollo and his running mate, Regina Salazar, are poised to retain their posts unopposed in the 2025 elections.
Piollo, who won his first term as mayor in 2019 and was reelected in 2022, will be serving his final term. In the 2022 election, he narrowly defeated Frederick Raut by 419 votes.
The lack of opposition in the upcoming election is expected to allow Piollo to focus on growth and development initiatives in the largely agricultural town.
Lila has been working to capitalize on its unique advantages, including whale-watching activities, to attract more tourists.
While Piollo’s uncontested bid may signal a smooth election in 2025, the real challenge may come in 2028, when he will be ineligible for reelection and the mayoral seat will be up for grabs.
