City Councilor Cacho Announces Bid for Bohol Board Seat

Jonas Revil Cacho, a three-term city councilor, has announced his candidacy for Board Member of the First District of Bohol, vowing to represent the interests of the Boholano people.

Wearing a violet shirt, a symbol of his campaign, Cacho told reporters that his bid for the provincial board seat is a representation of the province’s rich agricultural heritage, which has been the backbone of the local economy for generations.

Cacho, who filed his certificate of candidacy and certificate of nomination and acceptance (CONA) on Saturday, is running under the Laban Ng Demokratikong Pilipino Party (LDP), led by former Senator Sonny Angara, now the Secretary of the Department of Education.

If elected, Cacho promised to prioritize programs that empower civil society groups, farmers, fisherfolk, and small and medium entrepreneurs in rural areas.

He also vowed to strengthen conservation and preservation efforts for both upland and marine habitats, and to develop tourism infrastructure that benefits local stakeholders.

Cacho’s candidacy filing was accompanied by that of Candijay Municipal Councilor Along Olandria, who is also running for a board seat under the LDP party, representing the Third District of the province.
