Tagbilaran Holds Free Rondalla Workshop for Youth

A free rondalla workshop was successfully held for young people in Tagbilaran City recently at the City Hall Atrium, as part of the Lungsod Lunsad 2024 event themed "Strings of Heritage: Elevating Tagbilaranon Creatives Through Rondalla".

The event was led by the local government of Tagbilaran City, the Department of Trade and Industry, and the City DepEd.

Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap expressed her gratitude for the initiative, which taught young people in Tagbilaran about the rich Filipino culture through folklores, dances, and songs.

The effort and partnership provided an opportunity for the city’s youth to develop their talents and gain a deeper understanding of Filipino culture.

The workshop is also part of the Yap-Jala administration’s focus on teaching young people Filipino songs, dances, and instruments.

The event also featured a Rondalla Recital led by Professor Elaine Juliet Espejo Cajucom and Rhoel Nazario of the Sidhaya Rondalla.
