The province of Bohol has welcomed a new Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) player, Sagility Philippines, as a pioneering business locator at the Bohol Business Park (BBP), formerly the Tagbilaran airport.
The historic event was marked with a prayer, turnover, and ribbon-cutting ceremony held recently at the Innercore Building on the old airport site.
The milestone is seen as a testament to the Provincial Government of Bohol’s (PGBh) commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, with the BBP envisioned as an "I.T. Park".
According to records, the PGBh owns 6.5 hectares of the old airport lot, while the national government, through the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), owns the remaining portion.
After breaking ground in May this year, Sagility Philippines is set to have a soft launch in the first week of October, creating over 300 jobs in its BPO operations.
The US-based, tech-enabled healthcare business process management company is expected to drive socio-economic growth, infrastructure development, and innovation in Bohol, while creating opportunities for other businesses.
