Chatto Clarifies Hiring Process for Bohol Hospital, DFA Office

Boholano lawmaker Atty. Edgar M. Chatto on Thursday clarified that his office has no involvement in the hiring process for the Gov. Celestino Gallares Multi-Specialty Medical Center (GCGMSMC) and the upcoming Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) consular office in Bohol.

In an interview with Ardy Araneta-Batoy on Newsmakers, Chatto pointed out that each agency has its own hiring process, and his office only provides recommendations, with the final decision resting on the concerned agency.

"The Department of Health (DOH) is handling the hiring for GCGMSMC, while the DFA is responsible for the consular office’s staffing," Chatto said. "We have no role in recruitment, and any inquiries on hiring should be directed to the concerned agency."

The clarification comes amid rumors that Chatto was involved in the recruitment process for the two institutions.

GCGMSMC’s Cortes campus is currently hiring medical staff, while the DFA is set to open hiring for office staff next month, with the consular office slated to open in November.

Chatto, who played a key role in bringing the hospital and DFA office to Bohol, said his office’s goal was to bring convenience to the Boholano community.
