A mayoralty aspirant in a Bohol town has vowed to develop the picturesque Inambakan Falls into a major tourist attraction if he wins the 2025 elections.
Benjie Oliva, who is running for mayor of Catigbian, said he plans to prioritize the development of the falls, located in barangay Poblacion Weste, to boost the town’s tourism industry.
Oliva said he will seek the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT) to include the falls in its list of must-see destinations in Bohol.
He also plans to work with tour guides to include the falls in the itinerary of tourists visiting the province.
Despite being affected by droughts, Oliva noted that the falls still retain some water, which has become a draw for local tourists.
Oliva’s plan aims to capitalize on the falls’ natural beauty to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the town.
