Boholana OFW Repatriated After Suffering Stroke in Saudi Arabia

A Filipina overseas worker who suffered a stroke in Saudi Arabia has been repatriated to the Philippines, thanks to the efforts of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and local officials.

Flora May Boncales Guibao, a resident of Barangay Camanaga, San Miguel, Bohol, was working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for several years before she fell ill. She was able to return to the country just last week.

OWWA, led by Administrator Arnel Ignacio, provided assistance to facilitate Guibao’s repatriation.

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Assistant Secretary Atty. Virgilio "Dodong" Mendez and San Miguel Mayor Ian Gil Garcia Mendez also sponsored Guibao’s plane ticket, as well as that of her companion, to Bohol.

The local government of San Miguel, Bohol, expressed gratitude to all those who helped in Guibao’s repatriation, saying "daghang kaajong salamat" (thank you very much) to everyone involved.

Guibao’s safe return was welcomed by the Boholano community at Bohol Panglao International Airport.
