BISU Students Win Top Honors at Indonesian Design Contest

YOGYAKARTA, Indonesia – A team of students from Bohol Island State University (BISU) in the Philippines has taken home two major awards at the Chronics 2024 competition in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The team, composed of Industrial Design students Charmaine Baguinaon, Kim Dano, and Junny Lou Romano, along with their adviser Dr. Deceryl Gen T. Saligumba, won the 1st runner-up and Most Favorite Product Award for their innovative design of a foldable rollator called “KAAGAPAY”.

The KAAGAPAY project, which aims to provide assistance and support to individuals with mobility issues, impressed the judges and audience with its unique design and prototype.

The BISU team’s achievement is a manifestation to the university’s commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and excellence among its students.

“We are proud of our students for showcasing their talents and skills on the international stage,” said a BISU spokesperson.

The Chronics 2024 competition, held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, brought together top design students from around the world to compete in various categories.
