Bohol Marks 500 Years of Christianity in Philippines

The marker in Punta Cruz, Maribojoc, Bohol reminds Boholanos of the roots of Catholicism and Christianity in the Philippines.

The Provincial Government of Bohol and the Local Government Unit of Maribojoc led the blessing and unveiling of the Quincentennial Marker in Punta Cruz, Maribojoc yesterday. This is part of the celebration of 500 years of Christianity in the country and the commemoration of the first circumnavigation around the world.

Bohol Governor Art Yap, Rep. Edgar Chatto and National Museum Director Jeremy Barns inspect the marker.

First District Congressman Edgar Chatto joined Provincial officials led by Governor Arthur Yap and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos with LGU Maribojoc officials led by Mayor Romulo Manuta together with NHCP Chairperson Dr. Rene Escalante and National Museum Director General Jeremy Barns during the program.
